During her 40 years of clinical practice, Sandra has taught mental health professionals in formal training programs and continuing education. She has taught courses on Developmental Theory and Psychopathology, Ego Psychology Treatment, and Family Therapy. And she has taught numerous workshops on clinical treatment, clinical supervision, ethical dilemmas in practice, practice building, and licensing preparation.
Sandra has supervised a variety of mental health professionals in different settings. She has led student training programs for masters and doctoral level interns, as well as supervised entry level professionals. She has been a case consultant for mental health professionals individually and in small groups.
Her own clinical experience has been varied. Sandra has worked in outpatient psychiatric clinics, child guidance clinics, family service agencies, day treatment programs, and state and private psychiatric hospitals. She has been in a private practice of consultation and psychotherapy for 20 years. She has worked with adults, adolescents and children in individual, family and group modalities.
Sandra has current and past faculty appointments at University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Department of Psychiatry, and Smith College School for Social Work.
